HUMMEL & BEETHOVEN

The programme of this concert places side by side the famous Bratislava-born Johann Nepomuk Hummel with the german genius Ludwig van Beethoven, the 250th anniversary of whose birth we commemorated last year. We’ll present a peculiar work with a jocular title Duet with Two Obbligato Eyeglasses, written for viola and cello, which displays the Maestro’s sense of humour. Interesting is also the small outing into the work of Fryderyk Chopin, undoubtedly influenced by our Hummel.
